If a credit card is lost, you must notify the card card co immediately. They will issue a new card with a new account number. You should also put it on fraud alert through Trans Union Fraud Dept. Their toll free # 1-800-680-7289. They will notify the other 2 bureaus and must be renewed every 90 days in order to keep it active. It’s really hard to prevent credit card fraud but the safest way is to write down all your credit cards, their account numbers and phone numbers. Never use a debt card where an employee walks away with it because they can made a copy and have a field day later on. Never carry your social security card in your wallet. Although most banks now hold you responsible for any charges, it will be a real pain to resolve it. On credit card, you’re only responsible for the first $50.00 but in most cases, the bank will wave it for you. If you need more info, you can email me ar
